Destacó por el premió estelar al mejor artista y mejor artista masculino.
Sin embargo Beyonce, Twenty One Pilots y The Chainsmokers no se quedaron atrás llevándose 5 y 4 premios respectivamente.
El evento se realizó en el T Mobile Arena, fue conducido por Vanessa Hudgens y Ludacris, contó con las actuaciones de Céline Dion, quién cantó el tema "My heart will go on" en su 20 aniversario, Cher y Nicki Minaj.
Drake nos sorprendió superando a Adele quién había ganado 12 premios en un año. El rapero ganó en Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Tour, Top Rap Album, Top Streaming Song (Audio), Top R&B Song y Top R&B Collaboration.
Beyoncé destacó en Top Female Artist, Top Touring Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Tour y Top R&B Album.
Twenty One Pilots ganó en Top Duo/Group, Top Radio Song Artist, Top Rock Artist, Top Rock Song y Billboard Chart Achievement Award Presented by Xfinity.
The Chainsmokers en Top Hot 100 Song, Top Dance/Electronic Artist, Top Collaboration y Top Dance/Electronic Song.
